Itinerary
- Drive from Moshi to Marangu Gate for registration and briefing.
- Begin your climb through tropical rainforest, where you’ll enjoy rich vegetation, birdlife, and beautiful views.
- After 3-4 hours of hiking, arrive at Mandara Hut for your first night on the mountain.
- Dinner and overnight stay at Mandara Hut.
- After breakfast, start your morning hike to Horombo Hut.
- Pass through moorland and enjoy stunning views of Mawenzi Peak and the surrounding valleys.
- This day helps with acclimatization as you gain altitude slowly.
- Upon arrival at Horombo Hut, enjoy a warm meal and rest for the night.
- After breakfast, trek through alpine desert terrain, characterized by sparse vegetation and striking landscapes.
- The climb is steep, but the views are breathtaking, with Mawenzi Peak visible in the distance.
- Arrive at Kibo Hut in the late afternoon.
- Rest and prepare for the challenging summit attempt the following night.
- Midnight wake-up for your summit attempt. Start your climb at around 12:00 AM, walking through a steep, rocky path to reach Gilman’s Point (5,681m) at sunrise.
- After a brief rest, continue to the summit, Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro.
- Celebrate your achievement at the top and take photos.
- Begin your descent to Horombo Hut to rest and recover.
- Dinner and overnight stay at Horombo Hut.
- After a well-deserved rest, descend back to Marangu Gate, passing through Moorland and rainforest.
- Upon arrival at the gate, you’ll receive your summit certificate for reaching either Gilman’s Point or Uhuru Peak.
