Day 1: Arusha (Tarangire National Park)

After a short safari briefing in the morning, you will travel southwest towards the Tarangire National Park. The park has a diversity of landscapes including grass, acacia woodlands and forests and it is a popular place for its huge elephant herds and animals gathering at the river and swamps. Animals range from swarms of yellow breasted lovebirds to kudus, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and impalas. Predators include lions, leopards and hyenas, while wild dogs are rare. In the late afternoon, you will leave the park to travel to a nearby campsite, where you will spend the night in booked accommodation.

Day 2: Serengeti

After breakfast, you will take a picnic lunch with you as you continue to the Serengeti, a drive of around 4 ½ hours through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers some of the most exciting game viewing – great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, as well as thousands of eland, topi, hartebeest, impala and Grant’s gazelle.

Day 3: Serengeti

Early morning you will set out on another game drive in the Serengeti before continuing towards the Ngorongoro Crater. Your guide will take you closer to where the migrating herds are to be found. After few hours of your game drive, you will be heading directly towards Ngorongoro. You will have an opportunity to go deep the unbroken caldera and you will have a moment to take in the fantastic, awe-inspiring views of the collapsed volcano. Your accommodation might lie directly on the crater’s edge, offering a once in a lifetime view as the sun slowly sets over the crater.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the fascinating wildlife arena of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area once more before you leave for Arusha. Just to remind that the crater is among the UNESCO World Heritage site and was formed when a massive volcano exploded and collapsed on itself 2-3 million years ago. It is now the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world and often referred to as “Africa’s Eden”. Home to more than 25,000 large mammals, it is not unusual to see all of the “Big Five” (buffalo, elephant, rhino, lion and leopard) in a single day.

Following your game drive, you will transfer to your hotel in Arusha, or onwards to Kilimanjaro airport.
